ARCADE
Photo Contributed by Bob Cornellier
Throughout Whalom Park's history the Arcade is perhaps the area which frequently changed with the times.  Originally a penny arcade, many of the machines were just that - one penny or a nickel.  Movie-O-La machines which had short clips of old silent movies, wonderful gypsy fortune telling machines, Skee-ball games, monkey orchestra's etc.  The earliest penny arcade suffered a fire at the midway section of the park and many of the machines were moved into the Ballroom.  Later, a newer building was constructed near the Roller Coaster and Whip. It continually needed to be updated with new pin ball machines and later, the newest video games: race track and jet fighter simulators, and air hockey tables.
